Florida’s Healthy Start program has been recognized as a national model to improve maternal and child health outcomes. Our services change to meet the needs of the community. Recent successes include:
Providing services to over five thousand (5,000) women and children annually in Pinellas County
Expanding case coordination services to include a Latino team with fully bilingual staff to serve the needs of the growing Hispanic population in Pinellas County
Offering mental health services to Healthy Start clients
Presenting at-home childbirth education classes in addition to traditional classes in hospital setting
Interconceptional care to Healthy Start clients
Implementing MomCare, (an insurance program for pregnant women) which works to improve birth outcomes and infant health by linking women to healthcare |
