Shaping the Future of
Maternal and Child Health

The 2026 Service Delivery Plan

Every five years, state statute requires Healthy Start Coalition of Pinellas to complete a Community Needs Assessment, and we have done just that. This rigorous process looks at the health of mothers and babies across our county and identifies where our community has the greatest needs. The 2025 Needs Assessment highlighted five key areas for Pinellas County: low birthweight births, preterm births, infant deaths, C-section rates, and fetal and neonatal deaths related to maternal complications and pre-existing conditions.

Following the Needs Assessment, the next step is developing a Service Delivery Plan, which guides how our community prioritizes and delivers maternal and child health services for the years ahead. To make sure this plan truly reflects the voices of Pinellas families, we are hosting a virtual Community CafΓ© on Monday, April 21 at 9 am. Note that space is limited! Be on the lookout for registration details coming soon.

Pinellas County residents, providers, and partners can weigh in together.  Two guiding questions will anchor that conversation:

  1. How can we educate providers and our community about our greatest maternal and child health needs?
  2. And how can we amplify and support mothers and families to advocate for what they need?

Healthy mothers and thriving babies in Pinellas County is not just a Healthy Start issue, it is a community issue, and it calls for a community action. The 2026 Service Delivery Plan belongs to all of us.
