Blooming News: Holiday Wishes Is Here 🌷

This season, you can make the holidays brighter for local families currently served by Healthy Start Coalition of Pinellas. Through Holiday Wishes, each family shares a Wishlist of special gifts, like a shiny new tricycle, a learning tablet, or a first soccer ball, and community supporters help make those wishes come true.

Last year, Holiday Wishes reached more than 400 children and caregivers, and every gift came from neighbors like you.

You can fulfill a family’s Wishlist, host a donation bin, shop online, and more. Pick the way that works best for you, your workplace, or your group.

All gifts are due by Friday, December 4, so our Holiday Helpers have time to sort and deliver them before the holidays.

Kick off the holiday season with us at Belleair Coffee Company in Largo on Thursday, November 5, from 5 to 7 pm! Join fellow community members for a festive evening of fresh roasted coffee, light bites, and good conversation, all while learning more about how Healthy Start Coalition of Pinellas helps babies and families thrive.

This year, our Mingle doubles as a Holiday Wishes gift collection site. We invite you to bring a new, unwrapped gift for an expectant parent or child, such as developmental toys, arts and crafts kits, sports items, or a relaxation kit for a busy parent. Every guest who brings a gift will receive some Healthy Start swag, and donors giving $20 or more will take home an exclusive Healthy Start tumbler.

Our recent Doula Lunch & Learn gave expecting families a relaxed setting to meet our doulas and ask what doula support really looks like. One conversation led to an instant match, and that mom will now be a 2026 doula client. Families also received onsite breastfeeding guidance from our Certified Lactation Consultant, and Pack ‘n Plays went home with parents who needed a safe sleep space for their babies.

Many partners work behind the scenes to connect expectant families with our doula services. At our Lunch and Learn, one partner who leads community engagement and referrals called it a “full circle moment” to see a mom she had personally invited walk through our door and leave knowing she was in good hands.

Thank you to the Healthy Start Collective Doulas who dreamed up this event and brought it to life; and to our partners at the Foundation for a Healthy St. Pete and the Enoch Davis Center.

These teams prepped Pack N Plays and Safe Sleep Kits for our Beds 4 Babies program, organized early literacy materials, sorted donations of baby clothes, and crafted decor and activities for our upcoming Fall Family Connection. They brought their hands, their hearts, and their creativity, and Pinellas moms, babies, and families are better supported because of it. We are so grateful to be in community with each of them.
